Nobody wakes up wanting a general contractor.
They want a kitchen. Or a second bathroom. Or the ADU their mother is going to live in. In California, people search for the project roughly three and a half times more often than they search for the trade, and the project searches are far less contested. We build the marketing that meets them there.

We show you where you rank for remodel and addition searches in your cities right now, free, and the three fixes that move it fastest.

The project beats the trade, and it is not close.
We pulled California search volume for the jobs a general contractor actually does. “General contractor near me” runs about 8,100 a month, and it is the most contested term on the list.
Add up the project searches instead and you get roughly 28,400 a month. Bathroom remodel contractor alone is bigger than the generic term, at a competition score of seven against forty-six.
That is the whole opportunity. The searches worth the most are the ones with the least competition, and most general contractors have a website that says “general contractor” and lists services on one page.

A page per project, not a list of services.
Kitchens, baths, additions, ADUs
Each one its own page, written for the person searching that exact job, with the timeline, the permit reality and the range. That is where the low-competition demand sits.
Show up in the cities you build in
A complete Google Business Profile and a page for each city you actually work, so you appear when someone nearby is looking rather than everywhere and nowhere.
Project galleries that survive scrutiny
Whole-project photography, before and during and after. A remodel is decided on whether the last twelve looked like the one they want, and whether the site was tidy.
Reviews that mention communication
Homeowners are not worried you cannot build it. They are worried about being left in the dark for six weeks. A review that says you called every Friday is worth more than one that says great work.

Your referrals are being checked before they call.
Most general contractors get most of their work by word of mouth, and treat marketing as optional because of it. Here is the part that does not show up in any report: somebody gets your name from a neighbour, then looks you up before dialling.
If what they find is a thin profile, no recent reviews and a website that has not changed since 2019, a good number of those people quietly do not call. Nobody tells you. It looks exactly like the referral never happened.
So for a general contractor, the first job of marketing is not generating leads at all. It is making sure the ones you already earned survive the reference check.
ADUs, permits, and houses full of surprises.
ADUs are a real search here. California rule changes made backyard units mainstream, and “ADU builder” now runs around 2,900 searches a month in this state. It barely registers in most of the country. If you build them and have no page saying so, you are invisible for one of the few genuinely growing categories in residential construction.
Permit reality is a selling point. Timelines vary enormously between jurisdictions across the Bay, and homeowners know it and dread it. A contractor who explains the process plainly on the page, including what it does to the schedule, reads as someone who has done it before.
Old stock means surprises. Much of the housing here predates modern wiring, plumbing and seismic standards. Saying openly how you handle what turns up behind a wall, and how change orders work, converts better than pretending it never happens.
What we will tell you first.
Ranking takes three to six months. If your schedule is empty next month, ads are the honest answer and we will say so rather than sell you SEO.
We also check the demand exists in your cities before building anything, because in some trades and towns it does not. That is the first thing we do, and it is why we published our own Bay Area search data rather than quoting industry averages.
Mostly doing single-room remodels rather than whole projects? Our remodeling marketing page is the closer fit.
Get found, then get believed.
General contractor marketing is your Google Business Profile, your reviews, your project pages and your city pages working together, plus speed-to-lead automation so an enquiry about a hundred-thousand-dollar remodel does not sit unanswered until the evening.
It is the same local SEO engine we run for every trade, arranged around whole projects instead of single call-outs. Read the full method in SEO for contractors, or see the numbers in plans and pricing.
